5 km from the railway station, 17 km from the international airport, the hotel was established in 1854 and was known as The Imperial Hotel The hotel was re-named Connemara from Albany in honor of Robert Bourke, the Baron of Connemara, was also the Governor of Madras from 1886 to 1890 and contributed in a major way in the development of Madras In 1984, the Connemara Hotel came under Taj Management. It has been recognized as a heritage building in the landscape of Chennai. In Sept 2010, It infused with the spirited style of Vivanta by Taj. As the hotel being a heritage property it was one of the first structures of the city located at the heart of the city and also in one of the prime locations. The hotel is located within 100 metres of Chennai's best and popular wedding hall (Raja Mutthiah and Rani Meyammai) as well as the prime commercial area of the city.     currently, music is alllowed till 11pm, but hotel to get 24 hour liquor license post which music timings can be extended.

  • Parking : How many cars can be comfortbaly be parked? Is there valet?

    100 cars can be comfortable parked inside the hotel premises, we also have tie ups for parking with Spencers Mall next door . Valet service available

  • Wedding incharge : Who will be appointed from the hotel to take care of my wedding?

    In case of cancellation, more than 30 days before commencement of the function, no retention charge will be levied.
