Selecting music is one of the most fun parts of planning a wedding but it can also be the trickiest. The music you choose sets the tone for the entire celebration so here are a few tips and tricks from us on how to go about it.

For the reception, we always recommend you hire a DJ. They’re fun and a versatile choice for the party. You could always request the DJ to switch from bhangra to some old school hip-hop at the drop of a beat, quite unlike with a band.

At the ceremony it always good to invite a solo musician or even a string quartet. It adds a certain amount of flair and class to the ceremony. Get them to play a few classical pieces and you’ll have your guests tearing up at just the right moment. (Tears of joy of course)

Make a list of songs. Be sure to include songs that hold a special place in your heart as a couple. The first song you ever danced to, together. The song that was playing when he asked you to marry him. You get our drift? Also make sure there are a few special father daughter songs and mother son songs for those precious moments on the dance floor, apt for candid wedding photographs.

Follow these three steps and you’re good to go. If you need help booking a DJ or photographer or to just plan your wedding, get in touch with us on
